What is coincidence? I just posted about my Back To MAC motherlode and I'm doing another lipstick post. Last Wednesday, I was invited to SM Makati to kick off the near month-long Lipstick Fest.
It wasn't fun at all.
My four boyfriends (panindigan) were feeling playful with me (panindigan talaga!) because they were shown so much love earlier in the program. To break the ice and get the laughs going, 3 groups of 3 media writers were tasked to fill their white shirts with as many kiss marks in under a minute!!!
This is the beauty blogger team with Marj, Angela and Shen. Unfortunately they only came in second, but it was fun hearing the tactical preparations. Everyone helped out. I heard Sabs yell from one corner "Dapat creme (finish!)" *It should be creme!
But I digress. The program was not about boys but lipsticks! Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Ariella Arida were there to share their own lipstick tips. I must say, Venus is a true beauty queen. She radiates that shining persona that seems facetious when overdone but on her is simply magnetic.
There was also a quick lipstick runway show, which sounds lame but I was totally into it!
So what's in store for us lipstick addicts? On Wednesday, July 29, the actual International Lipstick Day, participating brands will be slashing as much as 50% off, offering GWP or lip services. Other promos run throughout July 23 to August 26.
This is awesome because a lot of Filipinas are lipstick addicts. We are very adventurous with lip color and not much else in makeup, so this is the perfect time to hoard. What's more, SM Beauty has been diversifying their partner brands and aside from the drugstore reliables Ever Bilena, FS Cosmetics, NYX and Maybelline, they now have mid-to-high end brands such as Shiseido and Max Factor.
